SENSEI consortium partners NOKIA and Politecnico di Torino (PoliTO) organized the workshop “When networks sense: Optical fiber networks as a planet-scale Sensor”, held on May 14^th in the frame of the 30^th International Conference on Optical Network Design and Modelling (ONDM) 2026.

Speakers from EU-funded projects SENSEI, ICON and ECSTATIC participated in this workshop on enabling Technologies, Needed Standardization, Use Cases, and Operator Perspectives. Vittorio Curri (PoliTO) and Philippe Jousset (GFZ) presented SENSEI results, from the networks engineer’s and the geoscientist’s perspective.
